At the end of the Seventies the ELCA-Committee of Firms was founded to promote cooperation of European landscape companies beyond the level of the associations. So the wish of many interested companies in direct contact and exchange of experience between companies at a European level was realized. The Committee of firms has among others following goals:
Increasing the exchange of information and experience between landscape gardening companies on an international level;
Intensifying specialist and personal knowledge and experience through international study trips, seminars and further training courses;
Pioneering and developing new work areas and skills/methods;
Promoting the international exchange of young qualified landscape gardeners.
Actually nearly 350 enterprises from twenty-two European countries and twelve countries outside Europe belong to the ELCA-Committee of firms.
The membership in the ELCA-Committee of Firms is possible for every enterprise of the gardening, landscaping and sports ground construction being member of a national member associations of the ELCA. Landscape gardening companies from countries in which no association exists or whose association is not a member of the ELCA can apply for exceptional membership in the Committee of Firms.
